Don HunterDon J Hunter – PT, DPT, MTC, LPED 

Don received his Doctor pf Physical Therapy (DPT) and manual therapy (MTC) at the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences.  He was an honors graduate of Georgia State University in Physical Therapy (PT); at Troy University receiving a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Development (MS); At University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences receiving Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) and at Oklahoma State University for certification in Pedorthics (CPED). Don is a Credentialed Clinical Educator by the American Physical Therapy Association and has been a guest speaker at colleges of physical therapy.  He has been a guest speaker for the continuing education events including “Orthopaedics for the Family Practitioner” and “Evaluation and Treatment of the Golfer” for Physical Therapists. He was founder and president of the Jacksonville Area Orthopedic Physical Therapy Study Group for over 10 years and further served the professional community by being on the physical therapy school admissions committee for UNF and USA as well as serving on the advisory board of Florida State College (formerly FCCJ) Physical Therapy Assistant program. Although having diverse experience in areas from amputees, geriatrics and pediatrics to vestibular disturbances, his career specialty is orthopedic manual physical therapy of the spine and extremities. After a long career in private practice in Jacksonville, Don moved to Fernandina in 2008. Dr. Hunter is a welcome addition to  the staff at Nassau Physical Therapy, working in both the Callahan and Fernandina clinics.

Away from the clinic, Don can be found fishing from his kayak, golfing or spending time with his wife Flo, an interior designer and homemaker extraordinaire. Don's two grown children, Kurt and Carla live in Jacksonville and have blessed the family with three grandchildren each.
